The decision: buy the switch system you intend
The K617 FIZZ White & Grey product listing describes a conventional wired mechanical keyboard with red switches. Redragon also maintains a separate K617 magnetic-switch support page describing Hall effect switches, adjustable actuation and 8 kHz polling. Those magnetic features should not be carried over to an ordinary mechanical K617 listing.
Our editorial take: start with the mechanical listing if you simply want a compact wired keyboard. If adjustable actuation is essential, research the exact magnetic edition and its software before purchase. We have not tested the benefit of those features in games.
Put it on your shortlist
You are willing to match the complete listing title, switch system and software download. Mechanical and magnetic editions can each belong on a shortlist for different reasons.
Know the compromise
You expect every K617 to include rapid trigger or 8 kHz polling, or you expect ordinary mechanical replacement switches to work in a magnetic edition. The family name is not enough evidence.
A five-point listing check
- Full title: look for “mechanical,” “magnetic” or “Hall effect,” rather than relying on a thumbnail.
- Switch and socket: confirm replacement compatibility for that edition. Mechanical hot-swap claims do not prove magnetic compatibility.
- Connection: the sources linked here describe wired editions. Do not infer Bluetooth from another keyboard in the brand’s catalog.
- Layout: verify US-ANSI versus a regional ISO edition and the key legends you need.
- Software: match the download to the exact model and operating system. Do not install a driver solely because it says K617.
Marketing text can conflict
Related models, search snippets and reused marketing copy can mix features. Prioritize the selected edition’s specification list and matching manual. If a listing contradicts itself about switch type or advanced features, ask the merchant to confirm the SKU before paying.
What this guide does not establish
We have not compared input latency, magnetic calibration, rapid-trigger behavior, typing sound or durability. A higher advertised polling rate does not by itself demonstrate a better experience on your computer. This is a version-identification guide, not a performance ranking.

Manufacturer specifications can change. Match the full model, switch, connection type and regional layout before paying. A specification is not an independently measured performance result.
