The decision: which controls will you use?

Redragon lists seven programmable buttons for the standard M711 COBRA and eleven for the wired M612 PREDATOR. Those are total programmable controls, not seven or eleven thumb buttons. The M612 page separately identifies two side macro buttons and a rapid-fire control.

Our editorial take: put the M612 on your shortlist if you already have specific actions to map to its extra controls. Consider the M711 if its control arrangement covers your needs. Neither button count proves better aim, comfort or build quality.

A GOOD FIT IF

Put it on your shortlist

You want a wired mouse and can verify that its physical button positions suit your grip. The M612 is worth comparing for more programmable controls; the M711 for a different, lower-count arrangement.

LOOK ELSEWHERE IF

Know the compromise

You need a wireless or Bluetooth connection, a verified ultralight weight, or independent tracking and click-latency measurements. This comparison establishes none of those performance claims.

DPI: choose a useful range

The M711 specification table lists a 100–10,000 DPI range. The M612 description lists five default levels up to 4,000, with settings up to 8,000 through software. The highest value is a sensitivity ceiling; it is not a score for accuracy or speed.

Keep your existing comfortable sensitivity in mind. Check whether the model’s software lets you set the steps you want. More settings only help if you can reach and configure them on your computer.

Fit comes before a final recommendation

  1. Compare the shell shape and side-control placement with a mouse you already find comfortable.
  2. Check the exact driver download and supported operating systems. Basic pointer input and full programming support are different questions.
  3. Read the retailer’s return terms for your delivery location before experimenting with an unfamiliar shape.
  4. Check the complete model name. This guide covers standard wired M711 COBRA and wired M612 PREDATOR, not M711-FPS, PRO, or wireless variants.

Why there is no weight winner here

The M711 page labels some measurements as package size, and its stated item weight does not establish a trustworthy like-for-like bare-mouse comparison. We have not weighed either unit. We also have not tested switches, wheel feel, tracking, software or long-session comfort.
